Description
OQ Technology is engaged in several 5G NR NTN satellite missions in S-band and C-band for direct-to-smartphone communications, in which OQ has built the D2D payload HW and SW, performed the assembly, integration, and testing, including support with integration to the satellite bus.
For its D2D missions, OQ has developed the 5G protocol optimizations IP to provide SMS and emergency broadcasting communications to unmodified 5G smartphones.
OQ Technology can support across several key areas:
• Satellite expertise: full end to end satellite missions tailored for LEO and 3GPP based telecom waveforms, including mission analysis, systems engineering, PA/QA, AIT, launch, and operations.
• Payload expertise: full end to end satellite payload dedicated for NB-IoT NTN and 5G NR NTN protocols.
• Re-configurable payload architectures for NB-IoT and 5G NR, supporting complex subsystems integration.
• NB-IoT NTN software stack: OQTEC implemented the full satellite eNB stack for NB-IoT NTN and demonstrated the stack with commercial UE chipset partners.
• 5G NR Optimizations to enable existing unmodified 5G smartphones (COTS).
